Welcome to our Church (and School) Finder. If you know the name of the church you want, the quickest way to find it is to use the scroll-down list on the left of the page which is sorted alphabetically by towns/places. Clicking on the name you want will cause a "balloon" to pop up with details and a small photo of the church, and beneath that there will be a high-magnification map showing its street location. Although many of our Mass centres do not have their own post-code, we are trying to give at least a nearby one so you can sat-nav your way to the right road ! At top right of the map is a tab offering a satellite-photo view. The map now features the Google StreetView functionality, which will give you a street-level photo of most locations in the Diocese - zoom in to a fairly high magnification level, click and drag the little orange man onto the map wherever you see a road coloured in blue, and see what happens !
(Unfortunately this facility does not support the 3D buildings imagery available on a full version of Google Maps - read more here.)
Just below the blue bar at the top of the map you will see a drop-down search box. This is how you find schools (or Churches) in each of our three county areas, and Saturday evening / Sunday evening Masses (English-language only).
Then, by double-clicking on the basic map with your mouse cursor in the area you are interested in (but not touching any of the icons) you can zoom in to a specific town or area: or use the " +/-" controls at top left of the map. Clicking on any of the icons will also bring up the pop-up data balloon. The map can also be panned around by left-click-and-dragging - use this if the pop-up balloon doesn't centre correctly first time.
Map key: Church - Catholic Primary / Junior / Infant School - Catholic Secondary School (school icons visible only on county-level search or under "Show All")
"Access for disabled" means ramps, or a level site. "Full Facilities" means there is a disabled-friendly toilet.
