8th June 2013 - Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham
14th June 2013 - Fourth in the Vatican II series of talks - “Joys and hopes, griefs and anxieties of this age” (Gaudium et Spes n.1) On the Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World . Led by Bishop John Arnold, Auxiliary Bishop in Westminster. Member of the Bishops’ Conference Department for International Affairs and Chair of CAFOD’s Board of Trustees. For all details see above. These open lectures, organised in conjunction with the Benedictine Community of Turvey Abbey which is arranging a parallel series of talks for religious, will be held at RE Centre, Holy Ghost, 33 Westbourne Rd, Luton LU4 8JD at 7.30pm on Fridays. It will be very helpful for the organisation of the evenings if you can book in advance using the form downloadable here or via email to admin@nores.org.uk . To cover costs we invite a donation of £5 per evening.
4th July 2013 - Schools Walsingham Pilgrimage
5th July 2013. Annual NORES lecture. With Bishop Kieran Conry of Arundel & Brighton, on the New Evangelisation. 7:30pm at the RE Centre in Luton.
7th-14th October 2013. Holy Land Pilgrimage. Led by Bishop Peter Doyle. Come with us! Walk in the Holy Land, visit the Holy Places and meet with the Holy People. 18 October 2013 - Fifth in the Vatican II series of talks - “Source, Summit and Goal” (Sacrosanctum Concilium n.10) On The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy. Led by Fr Tom O’Loughlin, Professor in Historical Theology, University of Nottingham. Previously held teaching positions in University College, the Milltown Institute, and the Dominican Studium in Dublin and first Professor of Historical Theology in the University of Wales. 23rd November 2013 - Diocesan Mass marking closure of the Year - 11am – Cathedral
28th February 2014 - Sixth in the Vatican II series of talks, extending beyond the Year of Faith: “Meeting God in Friend and Stranger” On the Declaration on the Relation of the Church to non-Christian religions. Led by Archbishop Kevin MacDonald, Archbishop Emeritus of Southwark. Currently Chair of the Bishops' Conference Committee for Other Faiths and of the Committee for Catholic-Jewish Relations. 13th June 2014 - Seventh in the Vatican II series of talks, extending beyond the Year of Faith: "The Call to Holiness". How the documents of the Council issue a universal call to Holiness. Led by Sr. Gemma Simmonds, CJ, Lecturer in Pastoral and Social Studies and Theology at Heythrop College and Director of the Religious Life Institute. Her research interests are Spirituality, Religious Life and Women in the Church. For all details see above.
