Procession in aisle of packed Cathedral23rd October. Northampton Cathedral was packed this afternoon for the Thanksgiving Mass for the success of the Together in Faith appeal as it nears its conclusion. Every seat was taken (just under five hundred people) to hear Bishop Peter thank everyone - donors, parish volunteer teams, priests and deacons - for their incredible support of the campaign which has raised about £8.8m in pledges over the next five years. But there is still an urgent need for dedicated work in the final group of parishes. More photos here....

Deacon Jim Heath29th September. RIP Deacon Jim Heath, formerly of St Josephs Luton, who went to his Lord on this date, aged 81. Jim was ordained in 1991 after a career in the Navy and then at Vauxhall. He was active as a layman and then as a Deacon in the SVP, Parish Gift Aid , Catholic Marriage Advisory Council, the Soup Kitchens, Christian Aid, Life, and Prayer Groups (in which he played the guitar.) He also had interests in bird-watching and amateur radio. Serving mostly under Fr Tom Kenny until his retirement in 2005, he is fondly remembered by all at St Josephs, especially Fr McArdle and Deacon James Grennell, to whom thanks for these details. May he rest in peace. His funeral was at Flitwick on 14th October.
