Canon Stan standing by his van with his dog22nd January. RIP Canon Stan Condon who went to the Lord on this date. Bishop Peter writes: "For many months he had carried the cross of lung cancer with great courage and with his inimitable wit. Last week he was anointed by Canon John Koenig and only moved from his home to stay with friends in Raunds the day before he died.. As many of you will know, Canon Stan was born in Poland and had a hair raising journey with his mother to England during the war to join his father who was serving with the Royal Air Force. They settled in Aylesbury from where he went on to study for the Priesthood. Ordained in 1959, he served in Corby, Thrapston, Bedford and Woburn Sands before retiring to Raunds in 2004. May he rest in peace." He is buried at St Mary's, Woburn Sands. There was to be a Vigil Mass there at 6:30pm on Sunday 29th January and a Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday 30th January. .
