30th June. Wayne Coughlin and Christopher Perry were ordained to the Transitional Diaconate at Oscott College on this date. They are undertaking short diaconal placements, Wayne at St Josephs, Luton, and Christopher at Our Lady's, Corby, before returning for a final term at Oscott prior to priestly ordination in January.


New deacon John Hamilton assisting Bishop Peter at Mass23rd June. John Hamilton was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate at St Clare's, Aylesbury. Many of his fellow Diaconal students from other Dioceses, who are due to be ordained themselves this summer, made the journey to Aylesbury, and joined his family, local clergy and many parishioners for the Ordination Mass, and a splendid reception afterwards at St Louis' School. All blessings to John and Diana.. He joins the other two Johns (Fr John Beirne and Deacon John Sillitoe) in ministry at St Josephs and St Clares. (Photo, Michael Pitt-Payne)


Paul Inman is ordained by Bishop Peter10th June. Paul Inman was ordained to the Diocesan priesthood at St Edward's, Kettering, This was our first Diocesan priestly ordination for three years and an occasion of great joy. Congratulations Fr Paul ! Formerly an Anglican priest, Father Paul, together with his wife, Fiona, and their daughters, Sarah and Sophie, were received into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2009. In 2010 he undertook the shortened course for former Anglican clergy at Oscott where he was ordained deacon in February. At the end of the Ordination Mass Bishop Peter blessed the whole family and received a first blessing from Father Paul. Father Paul’s first appointment is as an assistant priest in the parish of St. Edward, Kettering which also serves Burton Latimer, Desborough and Rothwell.. 2nd June. Frs. Anthony Reader-Moore and Nicholas Aldritt were ordained to the priesthood in the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham at St Gregory's, Northampton.


10th March. At Thornton College, near Buckingham, Bishop Peter spoke to a meeting of around 140 representatives from Pastoral Areas and all elements of Diocesan life. He reviewed the progress of the Walking Humbly with our God initiative begun in late 2007, and set out his priorities for taking it forward, especially in the light of the forthcoming Year of Faith. The text of his talk is available here and on 7th June we mailed out an edited DVD for parish & school use
