Our new Trustees Minimize

Here are brief biographies of the most recently-joined Trustees of the Diocese.  


 Fr Tony Brennan

Fr Tony Brennan , parish priest of Holy Family & St Johns, Luton, joins the Trustees in his capacity as Chair of the Council of Priests. Born and  educated in Slough, he trained for the priesthood at All Hallows College in Dulblin, and was ordained at Holy Family, Langley, Slough, in June 1994. After serving as Assistant Piest at Burnham, his first appointment as parish priest was in 2003 at St Johns in Corby, and then for eight years at Holy Cross, Bedford, including SS Philip & James in Brickhill from 2007. In 2011 he moved to Luton. Fr Tony is a former Youth and Prison chaplain, and since 2001 has been Justice & Peace Co-ordinator for the Diocese.

 Margaret Harwood

Margaret Harwood was born in Ealing and moved to Chalfont St. Peter when she married. She has lived in the Parish of St. Joseph’s Gerrards Cross for forty years and has three grown-up children. She has served as a School Governor for St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School for fifteen years and was Chairman of Governors for the last six years. Since retirement as a Governor, she has served on the Deanery Pastoral Council for a few years. She is a member of St. Joseph’s Parish Council, the Café group and Outreach & Evangelisation group, and helps out with hospitality at Parish events.

 John Peachey

John Peachey's original home was Clacton in Essex. His church until its closure in May 2014 was St. Josephs, Long Buckby, in west Northants,  where he was a Eucharistic Minister.  He previously held a position on the Church Parish Council and is a current member of the Catenlans. John has been married to Liz, who works as a Local Authority parish clerk, for 38 years; they have three grown-up children. His 40-year career in the building industry began as a trainee quantity surveyor, and he will retire  at the end of the year as a Trading Board Director of Travis Perkins PLC., specialising in negotiation and cost reduction techniques. As well as serving on the Trustees / Finance Board, he is also in discussions with the prison service and the Citizens Advice Bureaux to work as a volunteer.

 Deacon Crispin Walkling_Lea  Crispin Walkling-Lea moved from London to Bedford with his wife, Sarah, in 2001, shortly before the birth of their first child, Abraham.  Three years later Esther was born and the family have been parishioners at Holy Cross Church since their arrival in the town.  Crispin was ordained to the permanent diaconate by Bishop Peter at Holy Cross on 9 July 2016 and he ministers there and in the parish of SS Philip and James. A general and children's nurse by training, Crispin works at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the Built Environment department, advising on the specification, design and construction of new and refurbished clinical departments. He joined the trustees in April 2018.
