Annual Safeguarding Conference: Saturday 19th October 2019

The theme of this year’s conference will be; Understanding Spiritual Abuse and Creating Healthy Christian Cultures. This will take place on Saturday 19th October 2019, from 10am until 4pm, at Thornton College, Milton Keynes. This event will be open to Parish Safeguarding Representatives, clergy and religious. Please contact Lorraine if you would like to attend.

DBS Workshop and SAFEsys Training: Thursday 12th September 2019, Friday 20th September 2019 and Thursday 26th September 2019

Would you like more support with your DBS applications and be able to ask questions about the DBS paperwork? Would you like to see the new SAFEsys system which will allow you to complete DBS applications online? This system will also allow the safeguarding office to communicate more securely via email and it will enable PSR’S to view their own parish lists for DBS cleared volunteers. Please book on to one of the following workshops between 6pm-8pm: Thursday 12th September in St Edwards church, Friday 20th September in St Thomas Aquinas and Thursday 26th September in St Teresa of the Child Jesus Princes Risborough. Please contact Lorraine if you would like to attend.

Autism Awareness: Saturday 30th November 2019

This course is CPD certified and will take place on Saturday 30th November between 10am and 2.30pm at the St Mary’s parish hall in Woburn Sands. The course will cover; Characteristic of autism, Impact of autism on the individual, the sensory world of autism, the strengths of autism and theories related to autism. This course would be ideal for those volunteers working in your parishes. Please contact Lorraine if you would like to attend.

E-Learning for ACT: Action, Counter, Terrorism 

This learning will give you a greater awareness of ACT which could benefit you as a member of the public and also as your role in your parish. This training will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. This can be completed at your own pace, you can print off supporting materials and your certificate when you have completed the training.

2.Identifying Security Vulnerabilities 

3.How to Identify and Respond to Suspicious Behaviour 

4.How to Identify and Deal with a Suspicious Item 

5.What to do in the Event of a Bomb Threat
