Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults
“Safeguarding of us all, especially our children and young
people, and those who are vulnerable, is a key priority for the Church in the Diocese of Northampton.
It is a priority that springs from the very message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ who came to heal wounds and restore right relationships in his love for all people.
Being loved and kept safe go to the very core of the Church’s ministry to children and vulnerable adults. I am grateful to the Diocesan Safeguarding Office, to the Diocesan Safeguarding Commission and to the Parish Safeguarding Representatives for ensuring that the safeguarding policies and procedures of the Catholic Church in England and Wales are implemented fully.
In response to allegations of abuse we liaise promptly with statutory agencies, strive to support victims appropriately, and hold perpetrators to account. Above all, we seek to create and maintain a safe environment for all”.
