On this page we will try and provide an overview of the various documents, PowerPoint presentations and other resources that have been used at various stages of the Walking Humbly process - and point you to where you can find them.
Spring 2010 prayer resources
Sr Marion Connaughty of the Stream Three team has contributed a set of prayers and readings corresponding to the "12 Marks of a Thriving Catholic Community" for parishes, individuals and prayer groups to use however they wish. They were designed with Lent in mind but can be used at any time. Click here for our Downloads page and then search for "Stream 3 Current" in the drop-dwn Categories box - it should come up at the top.
The Bishop's vision address - 8th December 2007.
For the text of this talk, go to the Downloads page and search in the drop-down categories box for "Stream 3 Current".
If you would like a copy of the full-colour illustrated booklet that incorporates the talk, please e-mail Brin Dunsire who will post them out. We have a reasonable spare stock of these (but not enough to supply everyone in your parish, for example).
The Advent DVD
A DVD was made to support opportunities for reflection within churches, schools and communities, during Advent 2009 or as soon thereafter as could be managed. This was on the theme of the "Thriving Catholic Community". A session guide, prayer & question sheets, and feedback records, are all available for download from here (search "Stream 3 Current"), including suggestions for a session with a youth group. Packs for distribution by hand to parishes, schools, religious houses and youth leaders were made available to Area PALs at the end of November 2009.
There are some spare copies of the DVD and supporting material, available from Brin on request, but - again - not enough to supply one to every member of a parish or large group.
A streaming version is available to watch on the website of Holy Family Parish in Langley, Slough - thanks to their resourceful webmaster Bernard Stanley for this facility. Go to their homepage, scroll down until you find the Walking Humbly banner, and follow the link to a page where you can watch the DVD online. It is better if it is viewed as a shared experience, but it is helpful for people who may not have been able to get to a meetring, or who could not see or hear it properly, to be able to access it at home - so long as they have a good broadband connection !
The "Lent 2009 pack"
A DVD-based resource for reflection and conversation on the Bishop's vision was made available for use (primarily) in Lent 2009. Of course, even if the DVD has been viewed and discussed in a Lent meeting, there is nothing to stop other groups within parishes and schools using it at any time
We do NOT have any spare copies of that DVD. We have no objection to groups within the Diocese making further copies of it from originals held in all parishes, schools and religious houses. If that is not practicable, single copies can be sent out by Brin on request, but each one has to be individually made, which is time-consuming.
Among the documents mailed out in support of that DVD was a booklet of facts and figures called "A Context for Development", and a Prayer Card featuring a map of the Diocese. These remain relevant and are available to download from the same page as mentioned above.
All other material - session guides, feedback & questions sheets etc - which related specifically to those meetings has been removed into a different category called "Stream 3 - Archives" but is still there to be downloaded if you wish.
Other material
Also available for download are the Review Checklist questionnaire presently being completed in parishes, the Walking Humbly logo, and the Thriving Catholic Community diagram. If you do not find them in the Stream Three Current section, look in the Str3 Archive.
